Our good friends the B family invited us to visit them in Lubbock (about an hour or so away from us) and we decided it would be tons of fun to see them again. We took a day trip to see them and hang out with their family and see their campus. Dr B is a professor there at Texas Tech, and he and his team revamped the outdoor areas by the museum complex to turn the space into a nature preserve of sorts, with all local plants from a nearby ranch, a rocky water path for an eco-friendly complement to their low water plant selection, a design that makes use of soil, light, and plant arrangement in the best way ...etc. It is a very impressive space, even when in dormancy! And the museums nearby were also tons of fun to visit. We had lunch with them afterwards, and after lunch, we took the kids to a nearby park.
The museums- with a couple pictures of lunch in between:
The Adventure Park
My crazy children! I was careful not to tell them I was freaking out about the heights, in case it's contagious, but goodness- they were happy as could be, all those feet up from the floor. Haha! They had fun.

That looks like so much fun!
