Well, it is now OCTOBER but I am still trying to catch up.
The kids went back to school, and I started a job! So I've fallen behind... big time.
But school has been great for the kids. Despite some hiccups --like a kid being mean to Miss E for a few days until she finally said something-- they have really really enjoyed being out and about, having recess and PE and Theater classes, going on field trips, and what not.
Here are pictures from their "meet the teacher" day, and from the first day of school, waaay back in August! These seem to have uploaded chronologically!!
Kids were sick all week last week. I had been waiting for them to go back to school so I could do my best to catch up with blog posts, but instead we just barely made it through the week. So next week it is! With a little luck 😂🤞 I'll hopefully be writing about coming back home, my birthday, back to school fun, and all that.
So again, I'm just making space on the blog, so I can catch up on August adventures before the calendar gets too far ahead of me.

Well, it is not early OCTOBER... and I would like to announce that soon after I posted this, I started a new job, so instead of next week.. it ended up being a few weeks later...
But it has been wonderful. I have really loved the job so far, and it is allowing me to do all sorts of other things because I can still be home. I really am grateful for that. We were able to go to my parents' mission anniversary, for example. I have also been doing a lot of work around the house, organizing and cleaning drawers, decorating and redecorating, painting, planting, watering, fixing... Yup. I have been super busy.
I took a video of the garden before we left on vacation this summer, and then another later... let me find them...
HAHA! This was back in May, and it seemed to me like the garden was so lush!! LOL
This is a video after the club house went up:
And then here is another late in the summer:
The yard has been getting there little bit by little bit. I really think every year it looks a little bit better. I am going at it one or two plants at a time, but this year I managed to plant a lot of perennials, as was my plan:
- My fig tree
-The hydrangea
-The 4 berry plants to the side of the house (one was accidentally killed by the kid that mows our lawn, but we still have 3)
-The mums
-The pine tree
-The lilies
I also planted biennial flowers and flowers that go to seed and I can continue to plant in perpetuity (so, almost like pernnials) and limited myself to planting the pumpkin, tomatoes and herbs in my garden. I did try to plant zucchini at the end of the season, but I was too late. I got bushy, beautiful plants, but I don't think I'll get veggies on time.
Have I mentioned this is the year the wildlife found us?? We have had all manner of butterflies, dragonflies, moths, bees, bumble bees, and even a hummingbird. Qujite found two praying mantises, and I found a frog. Sapo? So much life! It's been so great to see. I am so happy about it that I suspect I may have already blogged about it. DO excuse my excitement.
The other day, I had had a super productive day, and was tired but happy, and decided to take pictures of myself in the garden.
I'm going through my pictures from September, and in September, Miss E bridged to Junior! This is her 5th year as a Girl Scout, and I am so proud of her!! (we took our masks off just for the pics)
Here's that picture of the flowers I picked a few weeks back..
And the dolls we made..
And Miss and Mr E with a friend, enjoying the club house.
I think that now that the weather has been nicer, the kids have been using it a lot more. Thank goodness. I was kind of worried. Still am. But I can always turn it into a greenhouse if they keep ignoring it forever muahahaha!!
