However, since I took pictures recently so that I could send a much promised update to our realtor, I decided that I should write a quick update post here too.
Even some of these pictures are a little outdated, and the first few are purposely blurry because they are the ones I took for the realtor. I moved the computer to our bedroom and I finished the curtain that is hung, unfinished, on the living room window's rod. I still want to do some work on the brick and other small things, but for the most part this feels comfy and mostly done to me. I go back and forth about painting the walls... the color just goes so well with my goal of making it a simple (if hopefully beautiful) space. I have been trying to go back to basics, and natural earthy colors have been speaking to me. "Comfy and simple," They say... and I smile and nod in agreement. Ja, Hygge. Ja...
In the kitchen, the big bulky island is now gone, and I am planning to purchase something simple and less visually heavy. Maybe a natural wooden work table... maybe something with turned legs or metal accent detail. And I've yet to decide on what to do with the kitchen and breakfast nook windows.
Our bedroom just got an update with some new sheets and the grey fuzzy pillows and throw. Thanks to the in-laws for the birthday present!
And we moved the computer in here too, since the touch screen on this thing was making screen time too accessible to the kids.
We painted a little wooden desk for Miss E, who had been asking for something like this for a while.
And just this Saturday we re-organized Mr E's room. We used only things we already had, but I am loving the final look so much more than I expected. Maybe because I didn't expect to like it, let alone love it, but it is making me very happy.
OH! I have already shared this, I'm sure, but I'll go ahead and add pictures of outside if I can find them. And that'll be it. That about sums up what we have been up to around the house :)
