It was his birthday

A few days ago. And we decided we would celebrate on the weekend. It was a great day, from the very start! I'm so glad we decided not to celebrate in the middle of the week (although we still kinda did, but that's another story).

We had a yummy breakfast. I made him eggs and bacon and home brewed chai tea that got forgotten about or missed somehow bc he made himself more! haha!!  While I was doing that, there was some morning activity in the living room. I thought it was cute that Mr E went straight to him the moment he saw him get on the floor! LoL. Not a lone moment for parents!! XD

Then we got ready and headed to FIVE GUYS!!! They JUST opened it and we had to go try it.
Okay it's been open for a little bit but we were busy living life haha!

Deliciousness all around <3

Miss E and Mr E loved the peanuts. Here she is wearing her creations from her Easter gift from her Uncle and Aunt in WA

this reminds me of my grandparents, who always have peanuts on their dining table for people to eat while food is cooked
We also went to the mall so the kids could run amok for a little while, and then to Best Buy for Daddy's gift (this year he asked to pick it):

Since we had been in the car for a little bit we decided we needed a little caffeine ;) Mr E fell asleep in the car promptly after eating his cake pop, of course.

So we went home to take a break (read, Daddy wanted to be productive and Mommy decided he had to be convinced out of most of it, but he still changed a light bulb).

And we had a light dinner (we were stuffed). Plus, this is us trying to be [a tiny little bit] healthy on a crazy fun day too ;)

We watched a little TV, took a break, played in the swings... that sort of thing. And come 6ish we decided we were ready for more fun. We put the kids in the stroller and we were off for a leisurely walk. The weather was gorgeous, with fluffy white clouds inhabiting the perfectly blue sky, and there was the most perfect breeze to go with the [not too] sunny day. A perfect Spring afternoon (evening? didn't really feel like it).

On our way to the square, we stopped at a local school's play yard because the kids were just so excited about it, and it was a welcome break.

The kids played and Quijote and I talked and commiserated on parenthood and thought back to when we were dating. We decided this was exactly the life we had envisioned seven-ish years ago. We are lucky (blessed!) and grateful.
Mr E liked the pebbles a lot more. He was scooping them into a large serving spoon that he had been carrying around all day!! LoL!! My crazy kids.

Then we kept going to downtown, to our favorite coffee show around:

They had a pretty cool improv thing going at the coffee shop! We only stayed for a little bit because though Miss E was absolutely into it, Mr E promptly lost his spoon (and his interest in what was going on on stage). But the little bit we caught was pretty cool.

We got home around bedtime, and Miss E is totally getting some extra awake time while I write this. So I should go put her to bed.

But before I do that~  a few pics of our double date (yup, we still went out in the middle of the week just for fun!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the love of my life
