On Saturday we woke up late (making sure Q had time to sleep in of course) and lazily got ready for the day. We talked to grandma and grandpa for a little bit, which was a lot of fun for the kids, and then we were off to celebrate.
We went to Amarillo's Starbucks...
Miss E loves their birthday cake pops (which I think is hilarious, that she had the first bite of "birthday" cake that day!)
Then we took Q out for lunch
And then made a cake :D We bought a special writing pen and apparently it made sense to whoever was the product developer to make their writing pen TRANSPARENT. Ugh
The next day we decided to skip church (womp womp!) because we were so sick and were not yet on medication or anything. Spreading of germs is not very Christian, but it felt SO STRANGE to be home for Easter Sunday... sigh.
But well, we did have our own reading of the story and followed a website's Easter Week program E is for Easter! Yay! (Thereby officially starting the very fist theme week- next up is D is for Dinosaur Week). And of course we also did a lot of egg painting and stuffing.. and that Sunday morning was no different... except Quijote was there to participate in the activities ^.^ I am waaay to excited about this, I know...
So we made a big breakfast
And then the eggciting crafts commenced...
Quijote's egg!!!! It makes me happy.
And Miss E was all like WOOOWW!! haha! and she was in love with her new dress (wore it for a week afterwards too.. lotta laundry for me me these days! haha!) She was so happy, and had so much fun looking for the eggs...
And Mr E .. well.. he was pretty content with his carrot lolipop, once he found it in his basket, and never ever caught the egg hunting bug... maybe next year!
The egg breaking was lots of fun, though, and we made a huge mess, and that was fun too.
The aftermath...
After that we had a lazy Sunday. Watched The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (which I tried to explain to Miss E is another way of telling the same story, but all that stuck was that "Jesus loves me" and "the Lion is Jesus" so now I think I've completely confused her...) .. and we nursed our colds with chicken soup and snacks... we ate and ate and all that...
And then we went to the doctor the next week :P Hehehe...
We are officially feeling better, and even ventured out to church (in Amarillo!) today... but that'll have to wait for another day ^.^
