Holiday fun

Yep, another October-ish post in November! Sorry I'm so behind. Although our first holiday in our first home was Halloween, it wasn't very big for us this year. I think we're finally plugged in to a church/Bible studies, judging by the amount of activities we had. And we got to decorate our house for the first time, but I don't have lots of pictures of the house and I have none of the kids in their costumes! Nor did we "work up to it" or look forward to it as much as we have on other years (okay, maybe that's just me, but even Quijote was like, "It's just supposed to be that day!").

Let me see what I have. We sorta stumbled onto a raven thing.

This is the kids eating candy after their trick-or-treat night was done.

You can kinda see his dinosaur costume in the back. He was SUCH a hit in the neighborhood. Everywhere we went there were awws and omgoshs and picture taking. It was fun. Alas, *we* have no pictures of him yet. I'll have to put him in his costume just so I can at least take an after-the fact picture of the thing. I don't know what happened!

Thanksgiving, on the other hand, is the first big holiday. I have been talking to them about it for half a year -along with Christmas, of course. And once my favorite season of the year kicked in, I lost little time getting our Pumpkin Spice on.... And... you know... whatever fall-ish stuff I could think of. Starting with the soups!

Lasagna soup

Squash

We turned the dough from Qs recipe into rolls! It worked out great!

And of course the pumpkin spice play-dough fun.

And finally, we had the chimney cleaned this weekend. And we got to enjoy our fireplace for the first time!
