Ya estoy mas vieja, sen~ores!!

Haha!!! I am 31 years old today!!

It's barely 3pm and I am almost tired of partying and celebrating already :P! My inlaws were in town this weekend, and so we started the outings early on. Then they took the kids last night so Quijote could take me out for dinner. I wore a lace hand made dress my sister bought me in Cancun and a necklace I got from my other sister. We had lamb pasta and a huge steak and talked for 3 hrs straight. No one will ever know what all we talked about for so long --least of all me, since it felt like 30 minutes! Before we went to sleep I took a sip from the Port that was brought from Portugal and was hand delivered to my inlaws by some family friends- and it was heavy and was very sweet, with fruity undertones (I don't know the first thing about wines, this was just my impression). It was extremely good- but I could only take a sip!

I slept in this morning and woke up to a pretty birthday card that Evita and Daddy made for me. Q made breakfast and took the kidoes for a while, then I took the kids so he could sleep a little too. We had a tea party and played monster, and I struggled to get my dad a couple Kindle books for his birthday (YES! It's both our birthdays today :D!!!). I've been missing him a lot today, and my entire family in fact. After lunch it was nap time and I took a nice long soak in the tub, and I was daydreaming of that time that my mom stood behind me after I blew my candles and said she was going to protect me from the [Mexican?] tradition of slamming the cumplean~ero's face in the cake, only to end up doing it herself!!! HAHAHA! OMG my mom is a force of nature. It brought a smile to my face.
Mr E is still asleep, and Miss E is watching cartoons on the iPad in our room while Quijote sleeps, so my little wrinkled fingers and I are here- writing away ;)

It has been a great year, and I am looking forward to many more- but I am grateful for what life I've been allowed to live and do so far, and feel complete and fulfilled. Nothing else can compare with the peace that God has granted me in that. And so I am grateful- so very, very grateful.
