It's homecoming!

There was a parade, even. But we didn't go.
We went on a date instead :)

Yes, we found a baby-sitter. Finally. She is ESL certified, and is working at the local Methodist daycare during the week. We found her through our church- she had Baby E in her arms when the service was over and it was time to pick them up from the nursery. Was doing such a great job of making a fussy baby happy-er. She is also a student at the college. Bless her heart, now she has to deal with my littles too!

After 15-20 mins of directions, rules, and so on, Quijote and I went on date. I am surprised that my initial emotion as we drove off was not excitement and happiness, especially since we're technically not new at this. We've eased into it, having left our little ones with the Abuelos or the Grandparents many times before, and using the nursery services at church on Sundays. But instead, I was uneasy and nervous, and it felt like something was missing the whole time. We did have a lot fun, and it was nice to have uninterrupted conversation, and I think that children and babysitter will have time to get to know/like each other better as we go. But it felt a little bit like a bumpy start.

On the other hand, despite the unexpected weirdness, our first date-by-babysitter also gave me a good aftertaste. It's nice to know that we can look forward to a weekly thing just the two of us. We were asking ourselves, whatever shall we do now with these two hours to ourselves?

Whatever shall we do, seriously?
