Well, we are home. We have been for a little bit --got here soon after Dia de Reyes-- but as usual, it's been a bit busy around here and I've been distracted away from the blog.
The big news is that we tested positive for that pesky virus, and are now quarantining at home. Thankfully we are all okay. We are suffering from very mild symptoms. We have announced our positive test to all my family, and let them know that they should test. I was especially worried for my abuelita and for my uncle C but we are so glad that it looks like they are okay. It was pretty scary, though. When we decided that we were going to travel as safely as possible, but we would travel, this was of course a possibility that we decided we would have to be okay with, but it was still scary. Esta vez nos tocó. And now we quarantine.
In the meantime, the kids and I have been trying to use our time here at home wisely. There has been tons of resting and sleeping and tv watching and all that. But we've also put away Christmas decorations, done some cleaning and tons of much needed laundry (always happens after a trip, especially a long one) and well, you know, generally have tried to slowly get ourselves back to "normal." Miss E and I also have made a veritable mess in the dining room, as usually happens when we craft, because we have of course used this time to start even more Barbie projects. Claro.
Tonight one of our teachers will come by and drop off the kids' work so that they can get started on getting back on track. In the meantime, I've forced them to take Spanish and Nahuatl lessons. And I've done lots of prep work for my new courses next year. I can't believe I haven't even had time yet to talk about that on here yet! My blogging habits have been terrible lately, again. sigh. Though, by the way, I have also tried to get back on track with my blogging this week. I'm having some problems with Google Photos, so it's not perfect, but it's progress...
Little bit by little bit is the name of the game. We are staying home and going nowhere. We are taking good care of ourselves and trying to get some work done, little bit by little bit.
So yes. There you have it. This has been our start to the new year :)
Tons of resting, as I said... heheh...
And cookie season is sadly on hold.
